Tilley’s Tough Bladder

You have probably heard of the word ‘Bladder stones’ before, but have you ever wondered what they look like?

Bladder stones are hard masses of  minerals in the bladder. They develop when the minerals in concentrated urine crystallize and form stones. Our special little patient  Tilley knows all about them!

Tilley is a small 12 year old Broome local who started suffering from urinary issues such as stranguria and urinary tract infections. She was straining to urinate and was urinating in places she usually wouldn’t. This is what made her owners realize something wasn’t quite right.

Dr Amy Johnston examined Tilley and noticed that her bladder was full of stones which will need surgical removal.

The surgery was a success removing 43 bladder stones in total! 5 weeks on Tilley’s wonderful owners say that she is like a new dog after her surgery. She has an extra spring in her step and is a much happier happy little dog. Good job Tilley!
